The Common Types of CBD Products Explained
In 2019, around 14% of American adults said they’ve used CBD products before. Because CBD is a close cousin of THC, it has many of the same benefits, but without the incapacitating high and worrisome legal matters, which is why it’s so popular.
If you’re interested in it as well, then you might be wondering about how to take CBD. That’ll depend on which product you choose!
Here are the different types of CBD products you should know about.
Extraction Types
Before we get into the various forms of CBD, let’s first discuss the extraction types.
First, you can get full-spectrum CBD. This is where nothing is left out of the extraction process, including THC (there should be less than 0.3% THC). This allows you to get the full benefits of cannabis but it can get you in trouble with drug tests.
A good alternative is broad-spectrum CBD. This leaves everything in it still, except for THC. There should only be trace amounts.
Lastly, you have CBD isolate. This is where the final product is stripped of everything but CBD. It gives you the full power of CBD, but you won’t get the benefits of the entourage effect, which is where all the compounds boost the powers of one another.
Now that you know about the extraction types, let’s discuss the types of CBD you can use.
CBD Flower
CBD flower is considered full-spectrum because you’ll be smoking a marijuana strain that’s high in CBD concentration. However, it’ll also have all the other cannabinoids (including THC), as well as flavonoids and terpenes.
We just mentioned that you can smoke CBD flower, but you can also vape it.
CBD Oil
CBD oil is quite versatile because it comes in liquid form. The easiest way to take it is to put a few drops underneath your tongue, hold it for 30 seconds to 1 minute, and then swallow. This allows you to feel the effects relatively quickly.
You don’t always have to take CBD oil sublingually. You can also smoke it or put a few drops into your food.
CBD Edibles
If you don’t want to cook or bake your own CBD edibles by using CBD oil, you can also buy CBD edibles. These come in forms of lollipops, candies, brownies, butter, etc.
You can also buy capsules and tablets. These can easily be taken with your morning vitamins.
Topical CBD Products
You can also buy CBD salve, lotion, and balm products. As you might’ve already guessed, you don’t ingest these products. Instead, you rub them on your skin to ease things like pain and headaches.
Use the Different Types of CBD for Relief
There are various types of CBD, and each has its strengths. For example, CBD oil provides discreet and relatively fast effects, as do topicals. But on the other hand, edibles work a bit slower but can last for a much longer time.
Now that you know about the types of CBD available, you can purchase and use the ones that’ll improve your quality of life!
